The Academy of Stars is licensed with the State of Illinois and offers a full day program with a limited part-time option Monday through Friday. The program is opened year long offering a school age summer camp and care for infants through age 12. The Academy of Stars utilizes Creative Curriculum and hires the best early childhood educators to provide a creative, nurturing and loving environment for all.

Program Overview

A hot lunch, afternoon reinforcement, snack and creative activities are included. This enrichment program includes hands on learning activities, weekly themes, with emphasis on simple math, early literacy, science, daily music and art. This program is structured to meet all of the State of Illinois- Early Childhood Initiatives and National Learning Standards for Early Childhood.

Infant Room: Birth to 12m.

Lots of love, nurturing, stimulation and joy every day. Our infants get our undivided attention. Our teachers create a calm, stimulating and creative environment for your infant.

Explorers: Age 1-2

Emphasis on building self-confidence, independence and exploration. Our Toddlers class features lots of centers to explore and develop confidence and build language skills.

Pioneers: Age 2-3

A holistic and nurturing approach to develop self-help skills, language and social/emotional milestones by increasing communication skills and creativity.

Adventures: Age 3-4

Designed to help each child develop decision making skills, cooperation with peers and adults, communication skills, problem solving, math, reading readiness, language development and other social/emotional and cognitive milestones.

Allstars: Age 4-5

Individual assessments, IEP completed and focus on challenging each child to achieve their personal best. Common for four year olds and those children that missed the age 5 cut off by September 1.

Full Day Kindergarten   

Topics include Math, Science, Early Literacy (Jolly Phonics), Art, Music (private piano lessons are optional), Social Studies, and Dramatic Play. Standards are designed to meet or exceed School District 220 and the Illinois State Standards. Assessments are done twice a year for each child to track individual growth and development. Parent conferences are conducted in the Fall and in the Spring if necessary.

Before & After School

Transportation from Roslyn, Countryside, North Barrington and Algonquin Road School. We offer homework assistance, enrichment, and daily themes and outdoor time.

Summer Camp

School age campers will enjoy field trips to the water park, bowling, miniature golf and other local attractions. Summer camp also includes a catered lunch, academic workshops, exciting themes and fun.

Private Piano Lessons

Piano lessons are available for children ages 3 and up. Piano recitals are held twice a year. All are invited to see 0ur "stars" shine!
